SHIPPING RATES AND POLICIES

Saturday and Sunday DO NOT COUNT as Business Days.  
Orders placed AFTER 10 AM PST/12 Noon EST will be processed and shipped the NEXT Business Day.
Our Delivery by Date Option in checkout is a courtesy to our customers, not a guarantee that your gift will be delivered on that day.
You must choose the proper shipping method to ensure proper delivery of your gift item, otherwise we will ship as per your order.
Shipping will be calculated at checkout based on the rate shedule below. 

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

Where Do You Ship?  

Continental United States:  Shipping is automatically calculated as you place your order.
Alaska and Hawaii:  Requires additional charges or a rate quote.  Usually $10-$15 more and only ships 2 Day or Overnight.  Carrier also may require an extra day.  Please contact us  at 1-206 819-1737 or via e-mail.
Other Countries:  We do not ship outside of the United States.
PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses: We cannot ship to these types of addresses. 
Hospitals,  Nursing Homes, Hotels: Deliveries to these addresses are NOT guaranteed- recipient may leave the hospital or be transfered to a different Room # before the delivery arrives. Red Riding Hood is not resposible.  If you are shipping to a Hotel, please contact Hotel Management to ensure that your package reaches the proper guest.
Companies and Corporations: If you are shipping to a corporation or large office, please inform the receiving department when the package is expected, so you can ensure timely delivery of the product.  A signature is required in order to leave the package.  Package will not be left outside a company's door.
Our Policies and Warranties:
Orders are shipped via FedEx via the shipping method you have chosen on your order.
Ground is NOT guarnateed for date and length of time.  It can take between 3-10 days or longer depending on the season, and where it is going.
We are not responsible for shipping companies errors, but will place the claim on your behalf.  See damaged goods policies.

We can not guarantee delivery will be made if the shipping company is unable to deliver a package due to incomplete/incorrect address information.

  • Refunds or replacements will only be given if your order comes damaged.
  • Orders sent to a wrong or incomplete address are not guaranteed and may be assessed an additional $10.00 fee.
  • Orders may arrive sooner than the requested "Arrive By Date." Please see our Shipping Rates Table for more complete information on transit time.
  • Food items and perishables cannot be returned.

Damaged Goods Claim - If you feel the package is damaged do not accept it from the carrier or open the package in front of the carrier and place a claim.  We cannot put through a claim on your behalf if it has been accepted as is.  We cannot be responsible for carrier damage. 


When will my order ship and what are my shipping charges?  

Orders placed Monday-Friday by 3:00 Eastern Standard Time (Noon Pacific) will be processed same business day. Orders arriving after our cut-off will be processed on the next business day. 
Please see the Shipping Rates Table below to get rates. Our rates are based on a per package basis. Customer Service will contact you if multiple pcakages are required to ship your order.
IMPORTANT: FedEx assesses a $10.00 fee for each incorrect or incomplete address. We reserve the right to bill you for this correction fee, so please make sure the information you provide us with is correct and up-to-date!
What if the recipient is not home to receive his/her package?
If the recipient is not at home, FedEX will leave the package in a safe place without a signature.

Food items and perishables cannot be returned.
 
WARM WEATHER SHIPPING OF CHOCOLATE PRODUCTS:
 
 
Our warehouse ships ALL chocolate products with Gel Ice Packs between May and October regardless of the destination.

We do not charge anything additional for Ice Packs.

 

We do NOT guarantee Ground Shipments of Chocolate Products between May and October regardless of destination. Southern CA residents may choose Ground Shipping, however we are not responsible for any delays and subsequent melting that may occur for Ground Shipments. Only Premium Air Service is guaranteed by our carrier to arrive to you within the commitment time.

 

Please note that if your destination is over 75 Degrees Fahrenheit, we strongly advise that you select an appropriate shipping method (Overnight or 2-Day Air*) to ensure proper delivery of your chocolate product. Our orders are processed automatically and we cannot guarantee that we can intercept your order if you have chosen an inappropriate shipping method (i.e., shipping a chocolate product to FL,NM, AZ, TX or other extremely hot states via Standard Ground during late Spring/Summer.)

 

We reserve the right to add $5-$10 to your order total if we feel that your product will not arrive safely via the method you have selected. Our goal is to make you happy- melted chocolate is in no one's best interests! Please check local weather conditions to help determine your best shipping option.

 

EXTREMELY HOT STATES: We do guarantee our products against melting ONLY when shipped via Priority Overnight Shipping.

 

SHIPPING CHOCOLATE OVER THE WEEKEND: Red Riding Hood will suspend shipment of ALL Chocolate Product Orders which require shipping over the weekend. Saturday Deliveries are excluded from this policy. The weekend adds transit time to delivery of chocolate products so shipping over the weekend puts products at great risk of melting.

 

Red Riding Hood Edibles cannot be responsible for damage if you (or the recipient of a gift) are not present at the time of delivery and the damage occurs as a result of the delay in claiming the package. Also, Red Riding Hood Edibles cannot be responsible for heat damage if you choose an inappropriate shipping method of a chocolate product and it ships via the method you selected.

In case of multiple recipient shipping, please note that these shipping rates are per package, per address.

Note: For heavy weight shipments, we reserve the right to charge an additional $10 for Air Shipping Methods. We will let you know if this is necessary prior to your shipment.

* At this time Ground Shipping is available to AZ, CA, NV and UT on most products to ensure freshness and quality.
 
 Shipping is based on "shipping weight". Shipping weights are calculated on a Dimensional Weight System- NOT actual weight. If you have any questions regarding DIM Weight Shipping please contact Customer Service.
